Aisha Acres (MBA ’09) was named the 2008–2009 William G. McGowan Scholar. For the past two years, the Freeman School has had the distinction of being a recipient of a scholarship grant made possible through the generosity of the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund Inc. This scholarship is awarded each academic year to a student pursuing a degree in business.

Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Acres graduated in May with a concentration in consumer behavior and a minor in international business. Acres is considering doctoral studies in international relations.

The McGowan Scholars Program, established by the McGowan Charitable Fund, provides select colleges and universities with scholarships to help students wishing to pursue a business education.
