As the lazy, hazy days of summer come to an end, the TABA board is actively working to build upon the successes from last year. Planning for the 31st annual Tulane Business Forum is in full swing, and we are actively soliciting sponsorship. This year’s theme is “Leveraging Corporate Resources,” and the program highlights nationally recognized speakers from healthcare, oil & gas, social media and alternative finance. The forum is TABA’s largest source of revenue and supports many of the alumni and student programs we produce throughout the year. This year we are offering an Enhanced Registration option, which allows the registrant to attend both the forum and the Speakers Networking Reception the evening before to meet the speakers and sponsors of this prestigious event. Even if you can’t attend in person, you can still support this crucial event by becoming a Freeman Alumni Sponsor, which entitles you to have your name listed among our sponsors in our promotional materials. More details on the forum and sponsorship opportunities can be found at www.tulanebusinessforum.com.
The monies raised from the Tulane Business Forum enable TABA to continue alumni and student outreach and sponsorships. We are continuing our Freeman Days sponsorship program that reimburses the travel expenses of an undergraduate and graduate student to attend each of the Freeman Days in New York, Houston and Washington, D.C. Now in its second year, this program has dramatically increased the recognition of TABA and our goals among the students and was well received by the alumni attending the Freeman Days receptions. I look forward to a similar reception this year, so mark your calendar for Freeman Days events in your city.
TABA also sponsored last year’s Tulane Business Plan Competition, which attracted 93 entries from 51 universitiesfrom around the world, and an MBA team from the Freeman School that tied for first place during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week held at the Idea Village. We are looking forward to continuing to support events such as these that help Freeman to maintain its status as one of the nation’s leading business schools.
Best wishes to all,
Jerry W. Lenaz (MBA ’97)
President, TABA
