In January, Freeman students visited the former St. Vincent’s Guest House on Magazine Street to learn more about a developer’s plan to turn the historic property into a boutique hotel. As part of instructor A.J. Brooks’ seminar in entrepreneurial hospitality, students toured the site with developer Zach Kupperman (L ’09), who is transforming the property, built as an orphanage in 1864, into an 80-room luxury hotel with a restaurant, bar and reception hall. Students had the chance to ask Kupperman about everything from financing the project to accommodating neighbors to creating a unique customer experience.
