James E. Maurin (MBA ’72) was elected chair of the board of trustees of the National World War II Museum. Maurin is a founder of Stirling Properties and served as chairman for 30 years. He serves on the boards of Ochsner Health, Highland Cashiers Hospital, the International Council of Shopping Centers Foundation and the LSU Real Estate Facilities Foundation.
Rick Rees (A&S ’75, MBA ’75) was reelected to the Board of Tulane, the university’s main governing body. Rees is co-founder and chairman of LongueVue Capital, a private equity firm founded in 2001 and specializing in value-oriented investments in lower middle-market companies.
Doug Hertz (A&S ’74, MBA ’76) was named one of Atlanta’s Top 500 for Business in 2025. Hertz has served as CEO of United Distributors since 1984. Under his leadership, the beverage distribution business grew to be listed as one of the top 25 private companies in Atlanta. He has also served on the boards of organizations including Atlantic Capital Bank, Camp Twin Lakes, Georgia Power, Georgia Ports Authority, Holly Lane Foundation and the Marcus Foundation. A native Atlantan, Hertz began his career with KPMG in New Orleans, working in the accounting and consulting services area.
Beth A. Houghton (A&S ’77, MBA ’77) was named to the board of directors of Tampa Bay Thrives, a nonprofit that envisions an emotionally healthy community where mental health is a priority and all thrive together. Houghton is chief executive officer of the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County. In that role, she oversees an annual impact budget of $133 million. Her previous experience includes serving as CEO of the St. Petersburg Free Clinic and chief financial officer and general counsel of All Children’s Health System.
Bruce Spizer (A&S ’76, MBA ’77, L ’80) published his latest book, “The Beatles: A Hard Day’s Night & More,” in August 2024. The book chronicles the Beatles’ first film and its soundtrack. Spizer is a tax attorney based in New Orleans and previously served as a consultant to EMI and Apple Records.
1980s
Edward Howell Crosby (BSM ’81, MBA ’84, L ’85) reigned as Rex, the 2025 King of Carnival. Crosby, a partner with Chaffe McCall, first became a member of the Rex Organization in 1994 and was named a lieutenant in 2000. As Rex Legal Counsel, he assisted in the founding of the Pro Bono Publico Foundation.
Richard Donald Lyman (MBA ’82) has been elected to the Valuation Credentialing Board of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. Lyman is a Certified Public Accountant practicing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dana Mcilwain (BSM ’84) was elected to the board of directors of Digimarc Corp., a global leader in digital watermarking technologies. Mcilwain brings to the role more than 35 years of leadership experience at PwC, where he served as vice chairman and U.S. services leader. At Digimarc, he will serve on the Audit Committee and the Governance, Nominating and Sustainability Committee.
Liz Brister (BSM ’87) was appointed president of Downtown Jackson Partners, which works to enhance the quality of life for those who live and work in Downtown Jackson, Mississippi. Prior to joining the organization, she spent 16 years at Entergy, where she most recently served as director of corporate social responsibility for the company’s four-state service area. She previously served as manager of external affairs at Entergy Mississippi and held leadership roles on numerous boards.
Dana Mcilwain (BSM ’84) was elected to the board of directors of Digimarc Corp., a global leader in digital watermarking technologies. Mark Freeman (MBA ’90) was appointed chief financial officer at LendingPoint, an award-winning online loan origination and servicing platform. Freeman joined LendingPoint from Republic Finance, a privately held consumer lender, where he served as CFO for the past six years. Prior to Republic, he held senior leadership positions at Ocwen Financial Corp., Banc of America Securities, BMO Capital Markets, RBC Capital Markets and J.P. Morgan Chase Bank.
Regina Benjamin (MBA ’91) was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Business Alabama, a magazine covering business in all sectors of the Alabama economy. Benjamin is the founder and CEO of BayouClinic in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, and served as U.S. Surgeon General from 2009–2013.
Jacques Chappuis (BSM ’91) was named president and CEO of PGIM, a $1.4 trillion global investment management business of Prudential Financial. Chappuis brings to the role nearly three decades of experience in investment management, most recently as co-head of Morgan Stanley Investment Management. He has also served as head of investment solutions at the Carlyle Group and head of alternative investments at Citigroup.
Trenton Magid (BSM ’91) was honored by the Omaha Press Club for his work with Grow Omaha Media, a media source covering growth and development in the Omaha metropolitan area. Magid is executive vice president at NAI NP Dodge, a commercial real estate firm based in Omaha.
Chris Moffett (BSM ’91) has joined Atlantabased SK Commercial Realty as president of SK Investment Group. Moffett brings more than 25 years of real estate and finance experience to the role, including positions with Archon Group, Goldman Sach’s real estate management arm, and Crown Castle, one of the nation’s largest REITs.
David Boersma (MBA ’92) was appointed chief financial officer at Continuum Powders, a leader in sustainable, high-performance metal powders for advanced manufacturing. Prior to joining Continuum, he served as CFO at Stage Completions, a PE-backed leader in proprietary intervention-less sleeve completion systems, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing financial performance and governance as well as operational efficiency. He also served as CFO at Foro Energy and had leadership roles at companies including Freeport- McMoRan Copper & Gold, Honeywell, Waste Management and GE.
Mark Fogelman (BSM ’92) was appointed to the Board of Tulane. Fogelman is president of Fogelman, one of the nation’s largest operators of multifamily apartment communities. He is a current member of the Tulane President’s Council, the Tulane Business School Council and the Tulane Family Leadership Council. Fogelman and his wife, Margo, established the Fogelman Real Estate Certificate Program at Freeman in 2023.
Geary Stonesifer (MBA ’92) has joined Solum Global, a monetary network service provider, as chief executive officer. Stonesifer has two decades of experience in investment banking, including roles at Alex Brown, Deutsche Bank and J. P. Morgan, where he focused on equity originations and institutional equities. He also led a multi-industry Belizean company’s turnaround, spanning beverages, shipping, retail and food, from 2010–2014. In addition, he owns Mrs. Peters Food Co., a national player in retail smoked seafood.

Acton has more than 25 years of experience in marketing and brand-building work in both consumer and business markets.
Maya McReynolds (BSM ’93) was appointed to the board of directors of F5, a leading multicloud application security and delivery company. She will also serve on the board’s audit committee. McReynolds previously served as chief financial officer of the Client Solutions Group at Dell Technologies, where she led financial strategy. Over her 22-year tenure at Dell, she held multiple senior leadership roles, including chief accounting officer and senior vice president of finance.
Brian A. Weiss (BSM ’93) was named chief operating officer of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). As COO, Weiss will oversee NCMA’s operational strategies and implementation, ensuring alignment with the association’s mission to advance the contract management profession. Weiss joins NCMA from the American Management Association (AMA), where he served as vice president of Enterprise Business Growth. His previous roles include chief strategy officer at the Risk Management Association (RMA) and over a decade on the executive team at the Project Management Institute.
Roger W. Jenkins (MBA ’94) was appointed to serve on the boards of Regions Financial Corp. and its subsidiary, Regions Bank. Most recently Jenkins served as director, president and CEO of Murphy Oil Corp. Prior to serving with Murphy Oil, Jenkins had a 17-year career with Texaco.

Hill most recently served as president and chief investment officer at MAA and brings more than 21 years of experience in real estate to the role.
Albert J. Williams (MBA ’98) was elected to the board of directors of Hancock Whitney Corp., the parent company of Hancock Whitney Bank. Williams spent 30 years with Chevron Corp., most recently as a corporate officer and vice president of corporate affairs. From 2019 to 2021, he served as managing director of Chevron Australia, with responsibility for Chevron’s interests and activities in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, he served in a number of key U.S. and international roles, including president of Chevron Pipeline Co., vice president of Chevron Indonesia Heavy Oil Operations, asset manager of Chevron Thailand, and general manager, finance, of Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Co.
Micki Eisenman (MBA ’99) co-authored the article “Old-Skool Tools and Practices in the Digital Age: How DJs Keep the Past Alive and What It Means for the Future of Work” in Journal of Management Studies. Eisenman is head of the Strategy and Entrepreneurship group at the Hebrew University Business School in Jerusalem. Suzanne Tilleman (MBA ’99) was named the Sprunk & Burnham Endowed Dean of the University of Montana College of Business, becoming the first woman to serve as permanent dean of the college. Tilleman has been a faculty member teaching management at UM since 2010. She served as the management department chair from 2017 to 2019 before serving as interim dean. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, Tilleman spent seven years working in industry and another four years teaching at Montana State University-Northern.
2000s
Claudio Torres (MBA ’00) was appointed to the board of directors of Sadot Group, a company providing innovative and sustainable supply chain solutions to address the world’s growing food security challenges. From 2017 to 2020, Torres was managing director of Syngenta Seeds, where he oversaw several successful M&A transactions and led growth strategies, team structures, commercial excellence and strong stakeholder relationship management. Prior to Syngenta, Torres served as global CEO of Advanta Seeds, a global seed and technology supplier.
Ronald Galetzki (MBA ’01) joined Rektron Group, a global commodities trading house, as an independent director to the board. Galetzki has over 27 years of experience in global mining and commodities and has held prominent roles in top-tier companies such as Codelco, Collahuasi, BHP Billiton and KGHM, including serving as head of marketing and sales at KGHM Chile and distribution manager for sulfuric acid at BHP Billiton.
Lillian Meyer (MBA ’02, MACCT ’02) joined technology company Presto Automation as chief financial officer. Meyer previously served as the chief financial officer of Catalyte, a technology and IT services company, and Blue Scape Opportunities Acquisition Corp., a special purchase acquisition company listed on the NYSE. From 2019 to 2020, she served as founder of ElectricSnap, electricity savings. Prior to that, she served as VP of Business Development for Vistra Energy, a publicly traded integrated utility company.
Eric Movassaghi (MBA ’02) was appointed chief financial officer at Little Rock-based Encore Bank. Movassaghi brings more than 20 years of executive financial leadership in the banking sector to Encore’s chief finance role. Most recently, he served as CFO of First National Bank of Louisiana. Before that, he was a member of IBERIABANK’s finance team for 16 years, where he led the treasury department through asset growth from $2 billion to $30 billion. As CFO of Encore, Movassaghi will steer the bank’s financial strategy as it continues to expand and enhance its suite of financial products and services.
Ramank Bharti (MBA ’03) was appointed director of risk management and project controls at the California High Speed Rail Authority. Bharti previously held positions at ALSTOM, a multinational rolling stock manufacturer. Michael Feld (BSM ’03) was named executive vice president and president of the Life Sciences segment at BD, a global medical technology company. Feld joined the company from Veralto, a spin-off of Danaher, where he was most recently president of Hach, a global leader in water quality products. Prior to that, Feld held several senior roles at Danaher, including senior vice president and general manager of Cepheid Europe, and served as president of several other Danaher businesses including Mammotome, XOS and Dover Motion, where he focused on strategic planning, superior quality, associate development and cultural progression.

J. Douglas Schick (MBA ’05) was promoted to chief executive officer and board member of energy company PEDEVCO. Rod West (L ’93, MBA ’05) was appointed chief executive officer at Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. He most recently served as group president, Utility Operations, for Entergy, where he was responsible for the operational and financial performance of Entergy’s five operating companies. During his 25 years at Entergy, West oversaw areas including electric and natural gas distribution, customer service operations, engagement with regulators, shared services functions, and regulated retail commercial development and innovation. His tenure also included leading Entergy New Orleans’ rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
Natalie Barranco (MBA ’06) was promoted to chief executive officer of PRIME Business Advisory Solutions. Before her latest appointment, Barranco served as chief operating officer, overseeing financial performance, sales and marketing, operations, safety, maintenance, technology, budgeting, planning, and human resources. She also held the role of chief financial officer for a middle- market private equity-owned parent company, where she played a pivotal role in structuring and acquiring three target companies.
Allan Li (MBA ’06) was appointed to the board of directors of Gulf Capital Bank, where he will help grow the Houston market. Li previously served as CEO of Pamarco Technologies, a global industrial manufacturing firm, and managing director and board member of Kotts Capital Holdings, a private investment company.
Krystn Hammond (BSM/MACCT ’07) joined Grant Thorton, a multinational professional services company, as a CFO advisory principal within the Advisory Services practice. Hammond has more than 15 years of experience advising pharmaceutical and life sciences clients on transactions and tax restructurings. As a member of the firm’s Valuation and Modeling team, Hammond focuses on assisting life sciences clients with comprehensive valuation solutions. Roberto Stein (MBA ’07, PhD ’12) joined the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business as clinical assistant professor. Stein’s research focuses on mutual funds, investment strategies, behavioral finance and empirical asset pricing. Andréa Poldoian (BSM ’09) was promoted to partner at the Vistria Group, a middle market private investment firm that seeks to deliver financial returns and societal impact. Poldoian spent six years at Winona Capital before joining Vistria in 2021 and becoming a key member of the Knowledge & Learning Solutions (KLS) practice. Nneka Kibuule (MFIN ’10) was named a 2024–2026 Mária Telkes Fellow by Cleantech Leaders Roundtable and the Clean Energy Business Network. Kibuule is a principal at Aligned Climate Capital, an asset manager investing exclusively in the people, companies and real assets that are decarbonizing the global economy. She has a decade of experience in finance, operations and strategy for utilities, nonprofits, startups, Fortune 100 companies and investing firms.
Blaise Zuschlag (MBA ’10) was appointed to the LSU Board of Supervisors. Zuschlag is executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Acadian Cos., where he governs corporate administrative, financial and operational activities and plays an integral role in strategic initiatives including acquisitions, innovation and governmental relations. Prior to joining Acadian, he served as advisor for JP Morgan Chase’s Private Bank.
Kurt Gerwitz (MBA ’11) is an affiliate faculty member at Regis University’s Anderson College of Business and Computing, where he introduced the finance capstone course Anderson Reports. Inspired by Burkenroad Reports, Gerwitz started the class in 2020 to give students the opportunity to analyze and create financial reports on publicly traded Colorado-based companies that don’t often receive attention from Wall Street.
Luther R. McClain (MFIN ’11) joined New Orleans-based wealth management firm JECohen as a financial advisor. McClain previously served as a financial analyst with a local boutique investment advisory firm, where he was responsible for research, due diligence and managing of assets of approximately $200 million. He also serves as a financial advisor with global wealth management firm Merrill Lynch.
John Rotonti Jr. (MBA ’11) joined Bastion Fiduciary, formerly Islamorada Investment Management (IIM), as a portfolio manager, managing a long-term, fundamental value portfolio focused on high-quality businesses. He previously spent almost nine years at The Motley Fool, where he was a senior analyst, head of investor training and development, and lead stock-picker for a portfolio that purchased shares of profitable and growing businesses with competitive advantages at discounted prices.
Randall Frost (MBA ’12) was recently honored by the Inland Marine Expo with a “40 Under 40” Award, which recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions to the inland marine transportation industry. Frost is director of systems and analysis for Canal Barge Co., a marine transportation company headquartered in New Orleans.
Alejandra Guzman (MBA ’12) was named a Top Female Achiever by New Orleans Magazine. Guzman is chief business development officer at the LSU Health Foundation New Orleans.
Andrew Albert “Al” Kucharchuk (MBA ’12) was named chief financial officer at CERo Therapeutics Holdings, an immunotherapy company focused on developing next-generation engineered T cell therapeutics. Kucharchuk previously served as chief financial officer at Nukkelous and Chain Bridge I and held leadership and board positions at Theralink, Adhera Therapeutics and OncBioMune.
Elyssa Powell (BSM ’12) was appointed to the board of trustees at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Powell is a managing director at RBC Capital Markets, where she runs the U.S. High Yield and Distressed Sales teams. Katie Acuff (MBA ’20) was named president and CEO at LSU Health Foundation. Acuff brings more than two decades of experience in healthcare philanthropy, higher education fundraising, and institutional advancement, having led transformative campaigns and secured major gifts that have shaped the trajectory of nationally recognized institutions.
Taylor Asher (BSM ’20, MFIN ’21) was appointed chief policy advisor for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Crypto Task Force. Asher joined the SEC in 2023 after serving as a Senate staffer.
Thien Ninh (SLA ’15, SSE ’15, MBA ’20, M ’20) joined North Oaks Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic in Hammond, Louisiana, where he will focus on physical medicine and rehabilitation. Prior to joining North Oaks, Ninh completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the Institute of Rehabilitation and Research at Memorial Hermann in Houston.

John Woodard (MBA ’20) was promoted to vice president at Stirling, a commercial real estate firm based in Covington, Louisiana. In his new role, Woodard will lead Stirling’s New Orleans office and focus on expanding the firm’s business development efforts across the region. Ben Byboth (MBA ’21) was the plenary speaker at the 35th annual Environment Virginia Symposium at Virginia Military Institute. Byboth leads commercial strategy and business development at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, a leading commercial fusion company headquartered in Devens, Massachusetts.
Brian Allen (MBA ’22) joined Lakeland Capital as senior construction manager. Allen will oversee property improvement programs, optimize maintenance operations and support asset management. Allen is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with real estate development experience at NORF Cos.
Sandra Diggs-Miller (MBA ’22) was appointed to the board of directors of Operation Restoration, a New Orleans-based nonprofit that supports incarceration-impacted women and girls. Diggs-Miller is vice president of external affairs for Entergy Corp. Prior to joining Entergy’s external affairs group, she served as vice president of customer service for Entergy New Orleans from 2019 to 2023.
Michael Hoerger (M ’16, MBA ’22) co-authored the article “Masking Policies at National Cancer Institute-Designated Cancer Centers During Winter 2023 to 2024 COVID-19 Surge,” which appeared in JAMA Network Open. Hoerger is an associate professor of psychology and psychiatry at Tulane School of Medicine.
Dan Brouillette (MBA ’24) will step down as president and CEO of the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the association representing all U.S. investor-owned electric companies, at the end of 2025. Prior to leading EEI, Brouillette served as the 15th U.S. Secretary of Energy, where he played a pivotal role in making the United States a net energy exporter for the first time in three generations. Brouillette will continue his work with the KBH Energy Institute at the University of Texas at Austin and the Tulane Energy Institute at the Freeman School of Business, focusing on America’s role as a provider of abundant, affordable and clean energy.
Molly Rowe (MBA ’24) was named executive director of the Hilliard Art Museum at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Rowe has two decades of experience working with arts, culture and technology organizations around the world, including the New York City Ballet, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Savannah College of Art & Design, Duke University, Google and The New York Times.
