At a senior leadership retreat earlier this year, Provost Forman posed two questions that neatly encapsulated what I’d been thinking about: What is the Freeman School known for? And what do we want the Freeman School to be known for?
Experiential learning is more than just a highly effective pedagogical method. It is also the perfect educational model for this moment in time.
To the vast majority of you, I’m still “the New Guy.” So with that in mind, I thought I should begin my first column in Freeman Business by telling you a little about myself, why I’m so excited to be dean of the Freeman School, and what I’ve been doing for the past several months.
As I write this column, the Freeman School is busy preparing to welcome thousands of students and guests to Yulman Stadium for this year’s undergraduate and graduate diploma ceremonies.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging for both our students and our faculty and staff, but we continued to respond to this historic crisis with urgency, reason, ingenuity and, most of all, resilience.
